After 3 different stays at different hotels in Florence, this hotel by far was the best.  Close to the heart of the touristy areas of Florence (Duomo, Mercato Centrale, Ponte Vecchio) it deserves its 100 rating for walkability.  It's even a 5 minute walk to the train station where you can catch trains to a number of different towns in Tuscany for day trips, etc.

Upon entry to the hotel from a busy street where there is still always parking in front of the hotel, you are greeted by a friendly face who speaks Italian and English.  The hotel smells wonderful after wading past various questionable smells after leaving the train station, not so far away. There is a fragrance of spa, and that's from the zen-like decoration in the main lobby.

If you are driving, there is a valet to park your car.

Check-in was quick. Don't forget in European hotels you must always present your passport. And when entering in the room, don't forget you must stick pass card into the wall socket provided in order to access the electricity.

The view from my room in 301 was a wall. Nothing to be remarked at.  However, the window does open so enjoying the Tuscan air was wonderful. Until of course, the cooker fired up and then i had to shut the window for the variety of smells clashed.

It would have been just another hotel stay had I not discovered the tennis channel in the room.  So even though I didn't understand Italian, I was able to get my tennis fix watching the various tournaments playing that day.  There were also channels with English so that I could catch up to everything happening in the world.

At 5:30 -8:30 PM, there is a welcome drink where you can have one complimentary beverage (I had wine of course) and a snack.  Either before dinner or after returning from dinner. And if you have brought your own wine to enjoy, you can ask them for a glass to take upstairs to your room.  The service staff are excellent and friendly, although the seating area was a little too bright for having an intimate drink.

Breakfast was included in the room, which always helps I think when you are travelling that you don't have to search for food or coffee. I love Italian breakfasts that include espresso, salami and ham and various cheeses.  Really helps you fill your stomach before you brave the many amazing galleries that Florence is so well known for.

Upon the night before checkout, I was also left a gift on my doorknob.  Wow! A lovely handwritten note with biscotti and chocolates.  How thoughtful!  That's really a nice touch.

I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel.  It is pretty new, just opened this year so I hope that by the time I'm back at Florence again I will have the same wonderful experience next time.
